Jetts is proud to continue its partnership with GB Disabled Strongman, supporting their latest event, England’s Strongest Disabled Man & Woman 2024.
England’s Strongest Disabled Man & Woman 2024, hosted by GB Disabled Strongman with sponsorship from Jetts 247 Fitness, brought together some of the greatest disabled strength athletes from across the country to compete in and test their strength in a variety of events, showcasing their abilities in the sport of Disabled Strongman.
The event was a huge success, and the atmosphere was electric, as athletes competed across standing and seated events to take the prize home for their class.
Founded by Martin Tye – British Army veteran, Invictus Games medallist and Guinness World Record holder for the heaviest seated deadlift – alongside co-founders Bex Ingram and Steve Hole, GB Disabled Strongman was created to put disabled strongman events on par with their able-bodied counterparts, further expanding the exposure of the athletes and growth of the sport.
Accessibility is hugely important to Jetts Gyms. We want everybody to take part in fitness and strength training activities. That’s why we ensure our gyms remain as accessible and inclusive as possible, welcoming to all gym users, and why we’re proud to continue our support of GB Disabled Strongman.
GB Disabled Strongman continues its fast growth, with more and more events planned each year, giving disabled strength athletes across all four home nations the opportunity to compete in their sport on a national stage. The organisation has even more ambitious goals and plans to bring the biggest disabled show to one of the biggest fitness expos in late 2024.
“What a fantastic event GB Disabled Strongman is, year on year. The atmosphere is always electric, and the athletes really push themselves to the limit, showcasing incredible feats of strength. We’re proud to sponsor the event, and do our part to help improve accessibility, inclusivity, and grow Disabled Strongman as a sport in the UK!” – James Garner, Director of Jetts in the UK
“Our dream at GB Disabled Strongman is to bring our sport into the mainstream, giving our athletes the recognition they deserve while growing the sport throughout the country and the world. I’d like to say a huge thank you to Jetts, who have supported us since 2022. It’s thanks to our amazing sponsors and supporters like Jetts that we’re able to continue to grow and provide more opportunities for our athletes to compete on a near level playing field with our able-bodied compatriots.” – Martin Tye, Founder of GB Disabled Strongman
